A 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit eastern Afghanistan on June 21, near the city of Khost., killing at least 920 people – although the death toll is likely to rise over the coming days. Homes have been destroyed and families are believed to be trapped under the rubble, with hundreds of people injured.
Around 10 million children across Afghanistan urgently need humanitarian assistance to survive. Political instability, an economic crisis, drought, and COVID-19 have collided to create an unprecedented humanitarian emergency.
The head of the World Food Programme has described the situation unfolding in Afghanistan as “the worst humanitarian crisis on earth”.
We’re delivering a Survival Kit for one family and Emergency Food. Thanks to the help of supporters like you, we are hoping to provide people in need with Survival Kit and Emergency Food Aid.
