Kaffarah

It is narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira,‘A person came to the Prophet saw and said, “O the Messenger of Allah, I am ruined.” The Prophet asked what happened? He said that he had broken the Ramadan fast intentionally. The Prophet told him to free a slave. When he said that he had no slave, he ordered him to fast for two months continuously. When he said that he was unable to do so, the prophet (saw) told him to feed poor people.’

Kaffarah for Breaking a Fast – £300

In Islam, breaking a fast intentionally during Ramadan without a valid reason is considered a serious offense. If someone intentionally breaks their fast during Ramadan, they are required to make expiation, known as Kaffarah, as a form of atonement for their action.

Reasons you need to pay Kaffarah for breaking fast or making it invalid are as follows:
• Intentionally eating food or drinking water.
• Masturbation or sexual intercourse during fasting.
• Intentionally making yourself throw up.

The Kaffarah for breaking a fast intentionally during Ramadan consists of the following:
The person who breaks their fast intentionally must fast for 60 consecutive days as a means of expiation.
If fasting for 60 consecutive days is not feasible or causes undue hardship, then an alternative is available, which involves feeding 60 needy individuals dates, commonly eaten in the locality.

It’s essential to note that Kaffarah is obligatory only in cases of intentional fasting violations during Ramadan. If someone breaks their fast due to forgetfulness or a genuine necessity (such as illness or travel), they are not required to perform Kaffarah. Instead, they may need to make up for the missed fast by fasting on another day as a form of Qada (compensation).

Kaffarah donations play a crucial role in supporting Al Hasanaat Foundation’s mission to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need. These contributions are a form of expiation for certain religious obligations and serve as a means of helping individuals facing difficulties or challenges. By directing your Kaffarah donation to Al Hasanaat Foundation, you contribute to various charitable initiatives aimed at uplifting communities and fostering positive change.
