In many poverty stricken areas, such as the villages we work in, in India and in Bangladesh, people do not have access to clean water or adequate sanitation facilities.
A lack of access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation is the cause of death for many vulnerable people, especially children and women. Water and sanitation are essential to survive and are a basic human need.
A number of innovative interventions have been undertaken by Al Hasanaat Foundation to improve the water supply system and hygiene by installing hand pumps, deep water wells, building of washrooms in houses and school sanitation.
